The inspection process detects plastic bags in freezers contained body parts which suspected body parts of Vich. Functional forces have weighed and recorded more than 20 kg of organs, more than 60 kg of meat, 2 front legs, 5 hind legs, 60 eggs, and 4.5 kg of young eggs hidden in the freezer. The police made a record to seize all exhibits. Providing testimony to the Police of Con Dao district, initially Ms. Tran Thi Cuc - born in 1982 - wife Vo Ngoc Trung admitted that this is the number of eggs; Vich is bought by Vo Ngoc Trung from a rake boat and stored for sale to earn profit. The police are summoning Vo Ngoc Trung to investigate and clarify the case.
It is known that Vích has scientific name Chelonia mydas on the list of rare and endangered species prioritized for protection. Under the provisions of Article 244, Criminal Code 2017 acts of illegally hunting, killing, capturing, transporting and trading animals on the list of rare and endangered species prioritized for protection are subject to a fine of VND 500 million to VND 2 billion or a fine of 1 to 5 years in prison.
