Culinary Culture Festival celebrates the spring of Ky Hoi New Year in 2019

In the afternoon of February 12 (January 8 in lunar new year), Con Dao District Women's Union in coordination with the District Labor Federation held a contest on culinary culture to celebrate the Party and celebrate the Ky Hoi Spring at the road of Ton Ton Đức Thắng, the part in front of the island's house
Attending the contest were leaders of District Commissioner, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of the district and numerous officials and soldiers, and strata of Con Dao district and other people.
The contest was attended by 43 teams from 32 grassroots unions and 11 women's union branches throughout the district. At the contest, the teams have joined together to cook, plug and flower with many topics such as: spring of love, summing up, spring and spring homeland. Beside the flower baskets with many rich and beautiful ideas, women also brought to the competition 42 kinds of dishes and drinks of all kinds. The dishes of the contest have the traditional taste of 3 North - Central - South and some modern street-style dishes made by the teams very beautifully, attractive such as: shrimp spring rolls, Lotus rice, chicken sticky rice, fried chicken wings, salted fish fried rice, rolled salad, seafood noodles, sushi, tea, filtered flour cake ...
Ms. Le Thuy Thuan, Con Dao National Park Management Unit said: “Today we bring fresh noodles with five spices to prepare this dish. The contest is full of dishes from 3 regions of North - Central - South ... ”. Coming to the contest, the teams showed their ingenuity and creativity in processing and presentation. The food and drinks are not only diversified in menu, harmonious in color, beautiful in taste, good in quality but also ensure food hygiene and safety criteria. The contest is an opportunity for women in all agencies, units, armed forces, and residential areas to work together as talents, exchange and share experiences in the implementation of Traditional as well as modern dishes in the early days of the new year. Lieutenant Ha Thi Huyen, Chi Hoi Women's Union Con Dao District Military Command said: “Every year, the district organizes the first spring culinary competition, LLVT participates in a dish, this year women armed force join with Hue's dishes are filter cakes ... I see that the contest has the meaning of solidarity, bringing joy and excitement after the Tet holidays so that we can enter the new year to work more effectively and efficiently”.
After the judges completed the grading, the booths started selling food to customers with the votes sold by the Organizer with each voucher worth VND 20,000 . According to the organizers' assessment, this year the teams have demonstrated their cooking skills with delicious, attractive dishes and exquisite and beautiful presentation. Therefore, once opened, the booths attracted thousands of Con Dao residents as well as tourists to visit and enjoy the cuisine.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, judge of the competition said: “For many years watching the competition, we have found that the Con Dao women have become more and more progressive ... recently the flowers are cared for the leaves, the flower and the profound theme, the dish is trimmed no less than the restaurant, sometimes even more than the restaurant because of the affection of the participants of this competition”
The culinary culture contest celebrating Party celebrating spring is an annual activity in Con Dao district in recent years. This is one of the useful activities that not only affirms the ingenuity and talent of housewives of the island district but also gives people and visitors the enjoyment and joy of enjoying steamed dishes.
