Professionalize and improve the quality of tourism products

The Directorate of Tourism (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has coordinated with Lao Dong Newspaper to hold a conference on "Professionalism and Product Quality Improvement for Tourism" on the morning of August 29 2017 in Hanoi.

In the opening speech, Mr. Huynh Vinh Ai - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism highly appreciated the great development of Vietnam's tourism in recent years, affirming the close attention of the Party, the Government and the whole society has created a strong growth momentum for the tourism industry and attracted tourists. In 2016, the tourism industry attracted 10 million international visitors and served more than 62 million domestic visitors, total revenue more than 400 trillion Dong. Resolution No. 08-NQ / TW of the Political Bureau on tourism development became a key economic sector was issued on January 6, 1977 with a viewpoint of development and breakthrough solutions in tourism. Prime Minister directed in 2017 Vietnam tourism needs to attract from 13-15 million visitors, growth of 30-50% compared to 2016. Deputy Minister Huynh Vinh Ai emphasized the tourism development in the coming period to focus on professionalism, product quality  of tourism improvement in order to get sustainable development, ensuring high competitiveness, create resilience and long-term development.

The conference comprises of 2 sessions, the first session focuses on the topic of "professionalism in tourism", the second one on "Improving the quality of tourism products".

At the end of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan – General Director of Directorate of tourism assumes that the conference has achieved its objectives, and hope that the effect of the conference will raise the awareness of tourism. Since then, the professionalism and quality of tourism products will be strengthened, contributing to take Vietnam tourism to take off.
