Currently, Vasco's operating frequency on this route is 96 flights per week in peak season. This is a high seat ratio, reaching 80.9%, punctuality of 89.7%, reliability factor of 86.1%. During the operation, Vasco actively coordinated with Con Dao District People's Committee to serve passengers. As well as organizing commercial flights, Vasco also organized several emergency flights from Con Dao to the mainland.

Con Dao Airport  has a Class 3C rating, only capable of receiving small ATR72 aircraft. Currently, Vasco and Vietnam Airlines operate flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho with Con Dao. Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao Flight route and vice versa Vasco was initially operated by An-38 (25 seats) and from June 2005 until now Vasco has been operated by ATR72 (68 seats).

However, the supervision delegation pointed out that Vasco's service quality still has some issues to consider. Regarding ticket sale, there is a phenomenon that airline agents or tour operators book first, close to the date of flight without new buyers, cancel seats. In many cases, airline ticket agents do not put contact information (telephone number of passengers) into the system. When occurring to change the flight time leading to delay, cancel the trip ... Vasco was unable to communicate directly to passengers in time.

It is noteworthy that for the preferential regime for people living in Con Dao, the State has a preferential policy of 30% discount for officers, soldiers and local people, but Vasco has just organized ticket sales at 114 Bach Dang street (Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh city) and 40 Ton Duc Thang street in Con Dao district. Therefore, when people are entitled to buy tickets at other selling points, they are not entitled to the policy. endow. Policy-based ticket holders must also produce household registration cards and identity cards to prove that they are living and working in Con Dao.

From this fact, the mission said that Vasco needs to stop the situation that agents, travel companies "embrace" airline tickets and update customer information to timely inform the information. flight times change; Vasco's ticket agent must provide the passenger's contact information to the system to promptly inform the passenger when changing flight or flight time. Vasco needs to simplify the procedure for selling 30% discount airfare to soldiers and residents living in Con Dao and throughout the sale system, coupled with strict control policy.

Particularly, Supervision Delegation recommended that Government advise the Ministry of Transport (MOT) to study and upgrade the extension of the landing and expansion of Con Dao Airport  to meet the demand. transportation and planning of localities in accordance with Announcement No. 386 / TB-VPCP dated 21 August 2017 of the Office of the Government on the conclusion of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the meeting with leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The delegation also suggested MOT to consider deploying the lighting system for Con Dao Airport to be able to operate night flights. Particularly, the Supervision Delegation recommends that the Government create favorable conditions for other airlines to fly the route to Con Dao to avoid the monopoly status.
