Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien urgently required preparation for Tourism Forum ATF 2019

On March 31, 2017, Prime Minister approved Project Forum ATF 2019 after there is statements from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Tourism. In January 2018, Vietnamese delegation attended ATF 2018 in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and officially acceptedATF 2019.

On April 3, 2018  Minister signedOrganization Plan of ATF 2019. It is expected that the ASEAN Tourism Forum will take place from 14-18 January, 2019. The theme of ATF 2019 is "ASEAN - the power of unity".

ATF 2019 Forum will feature key events such as Tourism Ministerial Meeting, TRAVEX Tourism Fair, ASEAN Tourism Conference ...

Reported at the meeting, leaders of VNAT said that up to date Sub-committees have held meetings, conducted surveys and coordinated closely with competentunits in Quang Ninh.

At the same timebuildoperation plan of Sub-Committee, assign responsibility for each member and organization, and estimate general budget andaccounting of ATF 2019.

At this meetingleaders of VNAT asked Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien for opinions on five issues: to strengthen membership of Steering Committee, Organization Committee and Subcommittees of ATF 2019; Time, composition of these Committees; organization policy on opening ceremony, closing ceremony; browse topic of ASEAN Tourism Conference; Estimates and Draft Circular regulating estimation, management, use and settlement of funds for preparation and organization of ATF 2019.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien said that from now until organization is no longer long, so leaders of VNAT should urgently need to set up specific solutions on each jobgroup to deploy.

Regarding meeting time of Steering Committee and Organization Committee, Minister affirmed that must be at the earliest after the fifth session of the XIV National Assembly. In terms of finance, Minister asked Department of Planning and Finance to coordinate with VNAT to discuss specific plans.

Especially in ASEAN Tourism Conference Subject “Promote creation in agricultural tourism”, Minister said that it needs to change for better because it is not suitable with organization place.

Events of ATF 2019 Forum, organized in Ha Long (Quang Ninh Province), development city of resort tourism, exploration and not much relating to agriculture. Moreover, agricultural tourism in our country is not strong, more prominent than other types of tourism.
