Prior to the Opening Ceremony, the delegation of athletes of Sports Festival held a ceremony, offered incense and commemorated the cemetery at Con Dao.Following that, the delegation had a traditional torch relay from Hang Duong Cemetery to the 30/4 stadium of the district.7 athletes of the school sports passed the sacred torch to Nguyen Anh Nhut - Deputy Commander of People's Committee of Con Dao district, head of Organization Board of firewood tradition, showing the spirit of real competition, noble of the athletes, lit up the district athletic movement in sustainable development.

Organized every two years, the Phu Dong Sports Festival is a physical education festival for primary, junior and senior high school students in the district.According to the plan, the IX sports festival will take place from September 15 to October 20 with 8 content competition, including:Athletics, Chess, Table Tennis, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Shuttlecock and Xiangqi.
According to the organizers, this year's Sports Festival attracted 47 delegations with over 1,000 athletes participating in the competition.It can be said, this is a dynamic sport activities, gathering a large number of athletes are typical students in the movement of sports participation.
