The whole country was looking forward to the 70th anniversary of war invalids and martyrs Day in July. This is the occasion for us to review and honor Martyrs, Heroes and Patriots who have struggled during two resistance against French and American empires. With that meaning, Con Dao district has held many important activities such as the memorial ceremony of Martyrs, Heroes at Hang Duong Cemetery; Commemoration of 51 soldiers killed in Con Dao; The common death anniversary of martyrs, heroes and patriotics sacrificed in Con Dao.

According to the plan of the District People's Committee, Con Dao will solemnly organize live television program with the theme titled "Sacred Vietnam" implemented by Ho Chi Minh City Television Station on 22nd July.

The program will start from 18 hours 30 minutes, broadcasted on HTV9 and some Radio - Television nationwide.

Video conference will be held on 2 stages:

+ Main stage: Hang Duong cemetery

+ Secondary stage: Phu Tuong prison – French Tiger cage

And also according to the plan of the District People's Committee, Con Dao will continue to organize live television with the theme entitled "Following the elders" undertaken by Ba Ria Vung Tau Radio and Television and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the time of live television begin at 19:40, at Hang Duong Cemetery on 26th July.

July is the anniversary time of Vietnam’s War invalids and martyrs Day. This is the day compatriots nationwide commemorate, grateful to the soldiers who sacrificed for the Fatherland. This day is associated with meaningful activities such as "to return favour of wounded soldiers and martyrs". Con Dao is considered as "the altar of our country". There are homes of more than twenty thousand Heroes, Martyrs and patriots sacrificed for peace and unification of the country. The organization of livestream will create a wide spread of fighting will of soldiers and patriots throughout 113 years on "hell of the earth" - Con Dao prison with two struggles against French colonialism and American imperialism.
