People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province deploys Decision No. 1481/QÐ-UBND on establishment of the management board of Con Dao national tourist zone

According to Decision No.  870/QÐ-TTg at 17/6/2015 of Prime Minister, which approved “Master plan on development of Con Dao national tourist zone, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province until 2030”, the development base on  exploiting rationally the strengths in the value of marine and forest resources of  Con Dao National Park; promoting the value of Con Dao National Historical Park. It also promotes other manufacturing and service industries, even so attract the participation of local community. The aim is overcoming seasonality in local tourism activities. At the same time, tourism development must be linked with the task of preserving and promoting the values of historical-cultural relics, protecting the landscape and environment, ensuring national defence and security and contribute to local economic restructuring in the direction of increasing the service-tourism sector.

The establishment of Con Dao National Park Management Board will overcome the seasonal nature of tourism activities in the locality. At the same time, it is associated with tourism development with the task of preserving and promoting the values of historical-cultural relics and protecting the landscape, environment and ecology in Con Dao tourist zone.

On 02/6/2017 Ba Ria - Vung Tau People's Committee issued Decision No. 1481 / QD-UBND on establishment of the management board of Con Dao national tourist zone by reorganizing the management board of tourist zone of Con Dao district.)

Con Dao District People's Committee issued Document No. 1782 / UBND-NVLÐTB & XH at 27/7/2017 implementing the decision of the provincial People's Committee. Con Dao National Park Management Board is a public service agency under the People's Committee of Con Dao district. It has the function of assisting the District People's Committee in managing the Con Dao National Park on the implementation of planning and investment under the approved planning; to carry out the inspection and supervision of the contents and progress of the execution of projects and activities of tourist and service business; to protect natural resources and the environment and to manage tourist activities according to the provisions of law. The document concentrates on formulating the Regulation on the organization and operation of the Con Dao National Park Management Board, detailing the functions, tasks and powers of the attached functional sections; forming management regulations of Con Dao National Park, strengthen the title of leadership of the management board.
