Some information about the Soc Trang - Con Dao project

- Investment in speedboat: Superdong Con Dao I speedboat was invested a total of about VND 50 billion, is being built in Malaysia. To this day, the ship has completed more than 2/3 progress. Superdong Con Dao I has a capacity of 306 passengers, belongs HSC1 class. The ships can run in the wind level 8, with the 6m waves and speed of from 25 to 27 miles an hour. The company expected that the vessel will be handed over to them in May 2017. Superdong also plans to build Superdong Con Dao II in 2017, scheduled to operate from the first quarter of 2018.

- Tran De port: Soc Trang People's Committees has approved the investment project of Tran De port with the total investment of VND 90 billion. Superdong has completed the lease of more than 3.6 hectares (in Dau Giong Village, Tran De Town, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province) within 50 years for the construction of the port. The project consists of several phases, including items such as port, stone embankment, ticket office, waiting room, restaurant/cafe, reading room, car park, break room for staffs, hotel, park, amusement zone … The project will be completed the first phase including the basic items for the operation of the high-speed boat at the end of May 2017.

Some expected information about the operation of Superdong Con Dao I speed boat as follows:

* Route: from Tran De Port (Soc Trang) - Ben Dam Port (Con Dao) and vice versa.

* Schedule: 8am from Tran De Port → Ben Dam Port and 13h00 Ben Dam Port → Tran De Port. From Q1/2018, there will be two vessels operate at the same time from Tran De Port to Ben DamPort at 8h00 and 13h00.

* Travel time: about 2 hours 30 minutes.

* Estimated fare: VND 310,000 / passenger.

However, it can be said that one of the biggest constraints to Con Dao’s tourism development is the limited connectivity to the land, which greatly reduces the tourism advantages of Con Dao. The company has decided to open a new route from Tran De (Soc Trang) to Con Dao to bring more convenience for tourists as well as residents on the island. The call for enterprises’ investment in Con Dao - Tran De (Soc Trang) project is in the guideline and objective of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Con Dao district in order to develop more types of transportation, link diversity to create new routes. At the same time, this investment also belongs Superdong's market expansion strategy.
