Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company works with Con Dao district

The meeting of the Con Dao district leaders with leaders of Speed boat Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company. 

To inform Con Dao district leaders on the process of investing in ports and expressways Soc Trang - Con Dao, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong - Deputy General Director of Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company said that: "After some time to survey and find out information related to socio-economic development of  district, demand for means of transport between Con Dao and land, the number of tourists to Con Dao every year, plans for stimulating tourism and state's policy in Con Dao, ... The company decided to open new route from Tran De (Soc Trang) to Con Dao. The opening of this new route is also a part of Superdong's expansion strategy. The company expects to contribute a small part to development tourism in particular and socio-economic development of Con Dao in general".

Currently, Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company has started project of Tran De - Soc Trang port serving route of Soc Trang - Con Dao at Tran De town, Soc Trang province with a total investment of VND 90 billion. This port was built on an area of over 3.6 ha. The project includes items such as berth, ticket stand, rest house, restaurant/cafe, hotel, park, amusement parks, etc. Phase 1 includes basic items for operation of speedboats.

At the same time, Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company has invested in construction of  Superdong Con Dong I Expressway in Malaysia with total capital investment of VND 50 billion. Up to now, the boat has completed more than 2/3 progress. It is expected that the high speed boat serving So Trang - Con Dao route will be officially put into operation in June 2017.

Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang company also requested the People's Committee of Con Dao District to support and guide enterprises in related administrative procedures; to give priority policies for enterprises investing in Con Dao; to guide procedures for renting land to build waiting house, ticket stand, parking lot, hotel, amusement park ... in Ben Dam port area and Con Dao center.

Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, deputy general director of  Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang Company, said: "The company not only invested in passenger ships but also in the bus route from Ben Dam port to Con Dao center and other services to serve passengers, such as a three - star hotel with 150 rooms, a restaurant, an amusement park, ... The company's motto is to bring safety and convenience to customers with the best services. Con Dao was supposed a potential market over the company, so we will continue to research for long-term, effective investments to contribute to development of  Con Dao tourism".

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chinh, deputy head of the People's Committee of Con Dao district, emphasized that Con Dao are a distant island from mainland. Thus, there are some difficulties in transport between the island and mainland. Speedboat Corporation Superdong - Kien Giang Company will invest in high speed boat for Soc Trang - Con Dao route. This is suitable with the development requirements of Con Dao in the coming time and will meet the needs of travel by boat of tourists, officials, local people and promote tourism strength of the island district.

Leaders of the district committed to accompany and create the most favorable conditions so that the company soon complete procedures related to investment in port and the high-speed boat of Soc Trang - Con Dao route. At the same time, District People's Committee assigned some units and functional divisions of the district, such as: Office of the People's Committee, Division of Finance and Planning, Division of Natural Resources and Environment, Management Board of Ben Dam, ... to guide and support the company in completing necessary procedures of deploying investment in infrastructure and services serving operation of high-speed port.

The passenger ship which the company will exploit in Soc Trang - Con Dao route is Superdong Con Dao I with a capacity of 306 passengers and 5 tons of goods. It can run in the wind level 8. The ship will be handed over in May 2017. The company will start to operate Soc Trang-Con Dao route in June 2017. The ship will depart at 8 am from Tran De Port to Ben Dam Port and vice versa route at 13 pm.

Currently, Superdong has also continued to build Superdong Con Dao II. It is expected that there will be 2 boat departing  from Tran De Port to Ben Dam Port at 8 hours and 13 hours from second quarter 2018. The journey time is about 2 hours 30 minutes. Estimated fare is VND 310,000 per ticket.
