Starting Tran De Express pier serving tours from Soc Trang to Con Dao

According to Ms Quach Hong, a member of the Board of Superdong - Kien Giang Joint Stock Company: To capture potential and great demand for transportation of passengers and goods between mainland and Con Dao, the company has bravely invested to expand the sphere of ??operation and opened the new route from Soc Trang to Con Dao.

The pier is expected to be officially put into operation in June 2017 and the launch of the Tran De Express pier is a key priority of the company.

Tran De pier project is implemented in accordance with Decision No. 272??/QÐ-UBND of Soc Trang Province dated 15th February 2017. Accordingly, the project has a total investment of 90 billion VND, built on the land area of ??more than 3.6 hectares, in Dau Giong Village, Tran De Town, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province.

The project includes items such as: wharf, embankment, ticket stand, waiting room, restaurant /cafe,  reading room, parking lot, staff motel, hotel, park, amusement zone ... Company expected that the project will complete phase 1 (including the basic items for the operation of  high-speed train) in late May 2017.

Mr. Nguyen Van The, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Soc Trang Province, said:”Soc Trang has a diverse, multi-ethnic culture. It attracts 1.2 million tourists everywhere each year.”

With the advantage of being close to Con Dao, only about 90 km (equivalent to Rach Gia - Phu Quoc tour), Soc Trang - Con Dao Expressway tour hopes to attract a large number of tourists to Con Dao. Through this tour,  to attract domestic and foreign tourists to Soc Trang.

Soc Trang Province committed to create the best conditions for investors and continued to invest heavily in infrastructure and services for creating a friendly environment and promoting the great tourism strengths of the province.

According to the leader of Superdong - Kien Giang Expressway Joint Stock Company, Superdong Con Dao I speed – boat has total investment of about 50 billion VND. It is being built in Malaysia. The rate of progress of bulding the boat is more than 2/3 now. The boat has a capacity of 306 passengers. It can operate in rough seas at level 8 with waves of over 6 meters and the speed from 25 - 27 nautical miles per hour.

It is expected that the ship will be handed over to Superdong in May 2017 and can be exploited Soc Trang-Con Dao tour  from June 2017. Company expect that the boat will transport about 30,000 visitors between Soc Trang and Con Dao in the first 6 months.

Superdong – Kien Giang company has also built Superdong Con Dao II. This boat is scheduled to operate from the first quarter of 2018. Depending on the demand for passenger and cargo transportation, Superdong will consider to build a transport ferry for Soc Trang - Con Dao tour in the coming years.

Soc Trang - Con Dao speed-boat is scheduled with the following schedule: from Tran De Port (Soc Trang) to Ben Dam Port (Con Dao) and vice versa. Schedule: start at 8 am from Tran De Port to Ben Dam Port (Con Dao) and 13 pm from Ben Dam Port to Tran De Port. There will be 2 vessels running in convection between Tran De Port and Ben Dam Port at 8 hours and 13 hours from the first quarter of 2018. The journey time is about 2 hours 30 minutes. Estimated fare: 310,000 VND/passenger.
