Con Dao island welcomes over 19,000 visitors during the April 30th - May 1st Holiday

During the 5-day holiday period from April 27th to May 1st, 2024, Con Dao National Tourist Area welcomed and served approximately 19,350 visitors, in which 539 international tourists. The weather on April 30th, 2024 was favorable for tourists to participate in various recreational activities such as sightseeing historical sites, and eco-tourism activities such as swimming, diving, and coral reef watching.
According to the statistics from the Management Board of Côn Đảo National Tourist Area, Côn Đảo National Tourist Area received and served about 19,350 visitors (a 16.78% increase compared to the same period), including approximately 539 international tourists (a 28.95% increase compared to the same period).
The average room occupancy rate during the holiday period in the district reached about 81.09%, with luxury segment hotels like Sixsenses achieving about 42.5% occupancy, Poulo Condor achieving about 49.14% occupancy, The Secret Hotel achieving about 72.59% occupancy, Trade Union Hotel achieving about 73.68% occupancy, and Tan Son Nhat Hotel achieving about 77.97% occupancy. In the mid-range and budget segment, the room occupancy rate exceeded 90%, with some hotels reaching maximum capacity during the holiday period, such as Kim Ngan Hotel, Hoang Gia Hotel, Hoang Anh Hotel, Havana Hotel, Phi Yen Guesthouse, and Con Son City Hotel... The room occupancy rate was almost at 100% during the holiday period.
The weather during the April 30th - May 1st holiday period in 2024 (5 days) was favorable for tourists. This year's holiday season in Côn Đảo was well-prepared with tourism activities and efforts to stimulate tourism. Many accommodation and service establishments in the district applied the program "No price increase for tourism services".
Numerous cultural, sports, and entertainment activities were organized throughout the district, creating a joyful and lively atmosphere. These activities attracted tourists to participate and experience the cultural and culinary values in Côn Đảo, such as the Thanh Gia Mountain conquest competition, the art program to celebrate the April 30th - May 1st holiday, and the XVIII Traditional Craft Racing Festival. Particularly, the combination of Lô Tô Stage, Playground, and Food Court held from April 27th to May 1st, 2024 attracted a large number of residents and tourists. Just counting the Food Court alone, it served about 13,850 visitors, including approximately 195 international tourists during the 5-day event.
Due to the 5-day duration of this year's holiday, most destinations received more visitors with longer stays and higher revenue compared to the same period in 2023. In addition, to adapt to the high domestic airfare, ferry companies also increased the number of Vũng Tàu - Côn Đảo trips to meet the diverse needs of tourists during the April 30th holiday.
