On May 17, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed Decision No. 1336/QD-BVHTTDL to recognize Con Dao as a national tourism site in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
According to the decision, Con Dao in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is officially recognized as a national tourism site. The location and area of Con Dao National Tourism Site in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province are specified in Article 1, Decision No. 870/QD-TTg dated June 17, 2015, approved by the Prime Minister for the overall development planning of Con Dao National Tourism Site until 2030. The Provincial People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is responsible for developing Con Dao National Tourism Site in accordance with the approved master plan for the construction of Con Dao.
