Con Dao – Potential and development of beach tourism

Total natural areas is 7,678 ha, in which Con Son is the key and widest with the areas of 6,128 ha; be the administrative center with Economics, Culture – Society activities of Idland district.    

Before 1975, Con Dao is a earth hell, where France colonist and US empire kept in prison, racked Vietnamese soldiers during history length 113 years. Traveling to Con Dao, tourists can go by two means: By ship or flight, ship (Ship Con Dao 09 and 10) about 12 hours, airline ATR 72 Con Dao – Hochiminh City about 40 minutes, Con Dao – Can Tho about 30 minutes.     

Con Dao is awarded by nature with many beaches – beautiful and romantic landscape, advantagous for developing economics, as well as ecological, open-air tourism, fishing, relaxing, ocean robot, climbing mountain, go camping, resort, history and culture, back to origin, etc. to Con Dao, tourists can visit famous history zone such as Con Dao prison system, France colonist & US empire Tiger cage, Ship Bridge 914, Bridge Ma Thiên Lãnh, Phú son, Phú h?i Prison, Hàng Duong cemetery; visit bury of Vo Thi Sau heroine etc. Côn Ð?o has got plentiful and rich forest - ocean ecology with many rare sea animals such as tortoise-shel, sea-tortoise, (Dugong), lobster, grouper, dolphin, holothurian etc. There are many fresh, beautiful & wide water beaches such as Ð?m Tr?u, Ông Ð?ng, Ð?t d?c, Nhát, big sand Hòn B?y c?nh, Hòn Cau, Ð?m Tre etc.   

Besides, Con Dao beach has a lot of sea grass rapestry and colorful, rich corals with, tourists can discover ocean bottom, take part in diving in the ocean to view corals & fishes swimming in green sea water or angle, cattle-fish on the sea. Tourists can relax overnight at Hòn B?y c?nh to view tortoise-shel bearing egges directly on sand zones pleasant.

In 2015, Con Dao district is awarded with Decision 870/QD-TTg of Prime Minister on approving “General Planning to grow Con Dao National Tourism Zone, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province until 2030”. At present, Con Dao is focusing stressfully to exploit this Decision, develop Con Dao National Tourism Zone by the way to exploit sea, forest natural resources: promote values of national history zone.     

In 2015, Con Dao district received Decision 870/QD-TTg of Prime Minister on approving “General plan to grow Con Dao National Tourism Zone, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province until 2030”. Now, Con Dao is focusing stressfully to implement this Decision, develop Con Dao National Tourism Zone on the basis to exploit strengths reasonably on sea, forest natural resources value of Con Dao National Garden; promote values of special national history zone.
