Con Dao Tourism Conference 2024

Con Dao district just held a conference to summarize the tourism sector for 2024, outline the tasks for 2025, and have a regular dialogue with businesses and investors for the fourth quarter of 2024. Attendees included: Mr. Lê Văn Phong, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Anh Nhựt, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Thảo, Vice Chairwoman of the District People's Council, along with representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district, various agencies, armed forces units, the management board of 9 residential areas, and tourism service businesses, travel companies in the area.

With the implementation of many solutions, in 2024, Côn Đảo district welcomed and served 586,465 tourists, reaching 100.08% of the annual plan, including about 24,000 international visitors, hitting 141.18% compared to the plan. Nearly 45,000 visitors explored the ecological site of Con Dao National Park; around 216,000 guests visited historical sites. The total revenue from tourism services was estimated at 2.36 trillion VND, achieving 113% of the annual target. The district focused on promoting tourism, attracting investments, and developing the tourist market; completing the 3D 360-degree tourism map for Côn Đảo, displaying over 4,000 promotional materials, brochures, and flyers about Côn Đảo; announcing over 50 tourism stimulus packages. Additionally, many activities were organized for tourists such as: launching various types of ecological tourism products in Côn Đảo National Park; conducting a pilot program to "raise awareness about environmental protection for the community and tourists, combined with scenic photo spots"; installing several landscape models to promote environmental protection awareness among the locals and visitors

Mr. Le Van Phong - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Van Phong, Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, acknowledged the results that the tourist and travel businesses have achieved over the past time. He also suggested that in the upcoming period, relevant agencies, organizations, and tourism businesses need to implement several solutions to enhance the quality of tourism services; continue to promote the development of new tourism products; increase promotion efforts; improve the quality of accommodation facilities in order to establish Con Dao as a "national tourist area, promoting unique cultural, historical, and spiritual values; high-quality marine island ecological tourism services with synchronous, modern technical infrastructure that has brand recognition and competitiveness both regionally and internationally," according to Decision No. 566, dated June 26, 2024, by the Prime Minister regarding the approval of the comprehensive adjustment of the Con Dao master plan up to 2045.

Representatives from the district People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to the business that achieved outstanding results in developing tourism in Con Dao district in 2024.
