Since the Lunar New Year, Con Dao has attracted a large number of visitors for sightseeing and relaxation. On March 15, in Côn Đảo, the Management Board of the project "Reducing Ocean Plastic Waste in Vietnam" (under the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam (WWF-Vietnam) and the Côn Đảo District Cultural - Information - Sports and Tourism Center, organized a workshop to share the "Handbook on Reducing Plastics and Managing Waste at Source, Towards a Circular Economy for Tourism Service Businesses in Côn Đảo District" (hereinafter referred to as the handbook).
In recent days, several videos capturing dugongs swimming close to the shore of Con Dao have been widely shared on social media. These rare and captivating scenes of dugongs gliding through the crystal-clear waters have further highlighted the natural beauty of Con Dao.
In response to the growing issue of street vendors operating in unauthorized areas and around dining establishments, Con Dao District has issued plans to strengthen the management of street vending and small-scale retail. Authorities are also calling on tourists to avoid purchasing food provided by street vendors.
The Con Dao National Tourist Area Management Board has completed Phase 2 of the upgrade for the 360-degree Con Dao tourism map. The map now includes new destinations such as Dam Tre, Dat Tham, Bai Bang, Hon Tai, Hon Trung, Hon Tre Lon, An Son Shrine, and Phu Son Camp.

During the Lunar New Year 2025, numerous activities will take place in Con Dao District to celebrate the Anniversary of Communist Party of Vietnam and Lunar New Year 2025, contributing to an exciting atmosphere for the locals to enjoy the Spring Festival and celebrate Tet.
This isn't the first time that Con Dao has been recognized by foreign magazines as one of the most beautiful and alluring islands on the planet. Con Dao has gone through many ups and downs in its history, witnessing numerous remnants of war, but today it has risen to develop strongly while still preserving its heroic historical values.
In December 2024, the project to supply electricity from the national grid to Con Dao District will be implemented, with electricity expected to reach Con Dao by the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to information from the Con Dao National Park and Sixsenes Con Dao, around 7 AM on December 14, 2024, a mother turtle weighing about 50 kg came ashore at Dat Doc Beach in Con Dao District (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) to lay 98 eggs before heading back to the sea.
On December 18th, over 110 tourists arrived in Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) on the international cruise ship Le Laperouse. This is the second time the ship has visited and experienced Con Dao.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army (22/12/1944 - 22/12/2024), in the afternoon of December 11st, at the Con Dao Museum, Con Dao District (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), the Con Dao National Monuments Conservation Center (Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) coordinated with the National Archives Center NI ) to organize an online 3D exhibition themed "Con Dao - The Epic Tale Amidst the Vast Sea."
