On December 18th, over 110 tourists arrived in Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) on the international cruise ship Le Laperouse. This is the second time the ship has visited and experienced Con Dao.
International visitors were excited to share that they had a day filled with experiences at historical sites in Con Dao.
After stepping foot on Con Dao on December 18th, tourists visited ecological and spiritual tourist spots such as the Con Dao Museum, Phu Tuong Prison, Phu Son Prison, Con Dao National Park, and explored the primeval forest at So Ray Plantation. The ship continued its journey to Singapore on December 19th. The Management Board of the Con Dao National Tourism Area organized a welcome ceremony for the ship on December 18th, providing over 100 informational brochures about Con Dao tourism as gifts for international guests. More than 90% of tourists on the ship disembarked to explore Con Dao, which is a higher percentage compared to the first visit in October 2022 when the ship stopped in Con Dao after more than 25 years. According to shared insights from the travel company, the reason for choosing Con Dao as a new destination in the Le Laperouse itinerary was to provide guests with unique experiences and opportunities to explore untouched destinations. Tourists were very impressed by the beautiful scenery, the fresh air in Con Dao, as well as the unforgettable experiences while touring the special national relic area, the Con Dao Prison, which always leaves a significant impact on every international visitor.
International guests were warmly welcomed as soon as they set foot on the island.
Tourists had a delightful exploration of beautiful Con Dao
A family from Mexico shared their thoughts: "What surprised me is that there are so many mischievous monkeys here, and I’ve heard a lot about the island having many sea turtles. This is truly a beautiful place; I really love this island. The people here are very kind, the nature is wonderful, and especially there are many beautiful beaches. The museum and the Con Dao Prison are really emotional places because many people sacrificed their lives here."
