Mrs. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President, lit a candle at the heroic martyr graves at Hang Duong Cemetery.
During the two long periods of resistant wars of the nation, Con Dao was a school of revolutionary struggle, forging generations of revolutionary leaders and soldiers, a sacred land, a symbol of revolutionary heroism in Vietnam. This "Hell on Earth" had more than 20,000 people imprisoned, exiled, and permanently attached to places such as 914 Pier, Ca Map Cape, Human Skull Beach, Ma Thien Lanh Bridge ...
From that tragic tradition, Youth of Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau is proud and honored to come back to Con Dao, the altar of the Fatherland, respectfully bow down to light the incense and candles to express the gratitude to the graves of the heroic martyrs and patriotic people who took their bones and blood to contribute to the peace and independence of the country, brought happiness and prosperity to the people and the longevity of the nation. Following the example for the sake of the country and people of our elders, this generation is aware of the responsibility to firmly defend the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
