Con Dao tourists of the first 6 months of the year reduced by Covid-19 disease

From February to August 2020, tourism businesses have to suffer many economic losses; many tours have been canceled, the number of tourists, high-speed train, and flight to Con Dao decreased; historical monuments and national parks closed. From April 1, 2020, according to the implementation of the social isolation of enterprises, business households must close 100% for Directive 16 of the Government.

For the estimated results in the first 6 months of 2020, the total number of tourists coming to Con Dao is 120,955 arrivals, reaching 28.82% of the year plan, equaling 57.06% over the same period (down 42.94% over the same period). While international visitors are 12,092 arrivals, reaching 34.45% of the year plan, equal to 69.73% over the same period (down 30.27% over the same period). Total revenue: 559,996 billion Dong, reaching 33.77% of the year plan; by 66.29% over the same period (down 33.71% over the same period).

A number of visitors in the first 6 months of the year decreased 91,031 arrivals compared to the same period in 2019 (2020: 120,955 arrivals; 2019: 211,986 arrivals), of which international visitors decreased 5,248 arrivals compared to the same period in 2019 (2020: 12,092 arrivals; in 2019: 17,340 times); revenue decreased about 284,809 billion dong over the same period in 2019 (2020: 559,996 billion dong; 2019: 844,805 billion dong). Comparative assessment is according to the performance report in 2019. As of May 3, 2020, 122/269 companies, businesses, and households in the tourism sector reported damage caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, the number of employees in the tourism and service industry suspending from work.
