On November 18, Vietjet Air sent an official notice to the Southern Airports Authority and Con Dao Airport regarding the reinstatement of air services connecting to Con Dao (VCS).
According to the plan, starting November 25, the airline will deploy four aircraft to operate two key routes—Hanoi–Con Dao and Ho Chi Minh City–Con Dao—with one round-trip flight per day on each route.

Currently, only VASCO (a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines) operates direct flights to Con Dao from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
Beginning December 15, Vietjet Air will allocate an additional four aircraft, effectively doubling the flight frequency on these two major routes.
Earlier in April 2025, Vietjet Air launched direct flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Con Dao. However, by mid-October 2025, the airline temporarily suspended operations, forcing travelers from northern Vietnam to transit through Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho to reach the island.
At present, VASCO remains the only carrier operating direct routes to Con Dao from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, using ATR-72 aircraft.
The resumption of Vietjet’s two direct routes offers travelers more convenient options, reducing travel time and lowering costs compared to transit flights.
This move also comes at an opportune moment, as Con Dao prepares for the year-end peak travel season, when visitor demand is expected to rise significantly.
