Starting from March, Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) enters its most beautiful season of the year. Visitors' list of favorite check-in spots here now includes the trekking trail to Lo Voi Mountain.
The mountain’s appeal lies in its panoramic view of the district, where you can see both the sea and the mountains. A section of land jutting out from the mountain, resembling a dinosaur spine, is also a highlight.
According to the Con Dao Center for Culture, Information, Sports, and Tourism, this nature lover's spot is part of a project to renovate a forest patrol walking trail that also offers scenic views of Lo Voi Mountain.
The main goal is to create a clean, safe landscape for forest rangers. However, with the breathtaking views from the mountain, local authorities are considering a specific tourism development plan once the renovations are completed.
Currently, the project is still under construction, with some sections unfinished, which limits sightseeing opportunities. The project is expected to be completed by 2025.
From the base of the mountain, located on Ong Co Road, visitors will need about 30-40 minutes to hike to the summit. The path to the "roof of Con Dao" is relatively easy and flat, with stone-paved trails.

Besides nature check-in spots, one of Con Dao’s "specialties" is the turtle nesting season from April to November.
During this period, hundreds of turtles come ashore from the beaches of the National Park to lay eggs. Bay Canh Islet accounts for about 80% of the turtles nesting in Con Dao. This district is also the first place in Vietnam to implement a sea turtle conservation and nesting viewing program.
To "catch" the moment a mother turtle lays her eggs, visitors must visit the park at night, as turtles typically nest after dark.
