24th Con Dao district party committee meeting

On 03/10, Party Executive Committee of Con Dao district held the 24th meeting, 2015 - 2020 period to assess implementation of socio-economic tasks, national defense and security, the Party construction, building a political system in the first nine months of the year, and implementing task orientation for the last three months of 2018.

According to the report, in the first 9 months of 2018, Con Dao district's Party Executive Committee led and directed Party committees, administrations, fronts, unions and people's groups to perform their tasks well. political, socio-economic, national defense and security in the local, most of targets reached and exceeded plan.

Total turnover of services - tourism reached over 1.9 trillion, equaling 113% over the same period in 2017; a number of tourists to Con Dao in the first nine months was 234,952, representing 125% of the same period last year. In particular, international visitors reached 23,634 turns, 105% over the same period. Industrial output value reached 138.43 billion VND, equaling 108% over the same period; The value of agricultural production reached over 32 billion VND, equaling 103% over the same period; The value of fishery production reached over 48 billion VND, equaling 92% over the same period.

The fields of culture, education, health and social security are paid attention. The political situation is stable, national defense - security is maintained, social order and safety are guaranteed.

Situation of thought of cadres, party members and people of all strata in the district is stable. The district continues to effectively implement a Resolution of the 4th plenum of the Party Central Committee, the XIIth plenum of Party Central Committee in conjunction with implementation of Directive No. 05 of Politburo.

Party development continues to be a concern. In the first nine months of the year, new members were admitted to 30 masses, officially transferred to 19 members, bringing 829 members working in 45 Party camps.

In addition to results achieved, report of Party Executive Committee of Con Dao district also pointed out some difficulties existing in the first 9 months of 2018 such as slow progress of investment projects. Low rate of disbursement; a project to build a waste treatment plant in Bai Nhat has not yet been implemented; a port project continues to stop construction; Facilities of educational institutions in the district are still overloaded, district education continues to face many difficulties in teaching staff; Work of creating source for developing Party members is still slow, not meeting planned targets.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing groups such as: To accelerate the planning of concentrated locations for street vendors; Stopping a project "Con Dao people participate in boosting tourism development"; Difficulties in operation of passenger ship fleet of Ben Dam Port; suggesting province to remove difficulties in terms of staffing for teachers in education sector; It is necessary to evaluate nature conservation work and propose solutions for conservation.

In the direction and key tasks in the last months of the year, Con Dao district will focus on leading and directing grassroots organizations at all levels and sectors in drastic and synchronous implementation of tasks, to strive to attain and exceed socio-economic development targets according to set plans. In particular, the district will continue to petition province to propose Ministry of Communications and Transport to soon approve detailed planning of Con Dao airport to submit to Prime Minister for approval. Recommend the province to soon promulgate a regulation on coordinating task of waste treatment in Con Dao district; guide the district to carry out waste disposal at Bai Nhat and build a garbage treatment plant; to actively promote the provincial departments and branches to restore and renovate Hang Duong cemetery and system of national historical monuments of Con Dao; strictly control management of planning, land and construction in the district; To urge investors to speed up execution of projects; to continue implementing effectively Resolution No. 05 dated 12/4/2017 of Executive Committee of district Party Committee on leadership development of Con Dao district in the period of 2017-2020. To attach importance to rearrangement of apparatus in the spirit of Resolution No 6 (XII); strengthening Party's development along with other important contents.

Speaking at conference conclusion, Mr.Nguyen Hoang Tung - District Secretary noted results achieved on socio-economic field, security and defense of the district in the first 9 months. On the key tasks in the last months of the year, Mr.Nguyen Hoang Tung asked grassroots of Party organizations, levels and branches to implement drastically and synchronously the tasks and solutions, striving to achieve and overcome Socio-economic targets in 2018 as planned.
