Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Dang Thi Bich Lien emphasized that Vietnam has the potential and conditions to develop tourism, especially marine resources, with 3,200 km of coastline, over 2,770km of the island and beautiful beaches from North to South. These are natural tourist resources and humanitarian invaluable to attract about 70% of international visitors to Vietnam and 50% of domestic visitors, bringing 70% of revenue to the tourism industry each year.

Deputy Minister Dang Thi Bich Lien affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism identified tourism development, protection and promotion of cultural heritage values in association with environmental protection and climate change response. Vice Minister Dang Thi Bich Lien also expected that this activity will be supported by the provinces / cities nationwide, especially coastal areas, by organizing practical activities, cleaning the dear sea, island, contributing to environment protection and sustainable tourism development.
Following the launching ceremony in Cua Lo town, the campaign will be carried out simultaneously in five central coastal provinces including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Da Nang from May 18, to May 26, 2018.
