Recommendations for investment in component telecommunication cable with the project of electrical pulling to Con Dao

When implementing the national power grid project for Con Dao district, the modernization of the synchronous telecommunications cable system is suitable with the development speed of the district.

On September 25, information from the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the province sent a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and Vietnam Electricity, proposing to consider integrating the construction of optical fiber transmission lines into the power supply project from the national grid for Con Dao district.
According to Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the project of supplying electricity from the national grid to Con Dao district has been approved by the Prime Minister for investment.
On July 28, the National Assembly promulgated Resolution No. 29/2001/QH13 on the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period at the request of the Government, including the project of Power supply from the national grid for Con Dao district.
In order to have a basis for implementing investment procedures related to the project, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has issued a document 11063/UBND-VP dated August 23, 2021, requesting the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Electricity Group arranges investment capital for the project at the beginning of the medium-term public investment plan for the period of 2021-2025.

The province is also coordinating with the Institute of Energy and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to complete the report on adding the list of works of Con Dao substation to the electricity development planning of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in the 2016-2025 period with consideration o 2035.
According to the province, when implementing the power supply project from the national grid for Con Dao district, it is necessary to modernize the telecommunications cable system connecting the mainland and island districts, in accordance with the orientation and speed of socioeconomic infrastructure development of the district.
Therefore, the province recommends that ministries and Vietnam Electricity Corporation coordinate with relevant agencies and units to consider, research, calculate, integrate planning, build fiber optic transmission lines from the mainland o Con Dao district to synchronize with the power supply project from the national grid as mentioned above. This is to ensure the provision of high-quality and stable telecommunications services in the future for the island district.
