World Tourism Day 2017: Sustainable Tourism - How to develop

Tourism nowadays is the world's third-largest exporter behind chemicals and fuels. The tourism industry brings hope, prosperity, understanding and livelihood to many people on Earth.

In 2016 there were 1,235 billion people traveling internationally. It is forecasted that by 2030, the figure will be 1.8 billion.

As we celebrate World Tourism Day in 2017, the question is whether we can bring the force of global transformation - 1.8 billion of this opportunity - to contribute to the world becoming a good place. Better and promote sustainable development on all five pillars:

1.Economy: creating inclusive growth;

2. Society: providing sustainable employment opportunities and empowering communities;

3.Environment: conserving, enriching the environment and responding to climate change;

4. Culture: Honor and preserve diversity, identity, material and non-material culture, and

5.Peace: a fundamental prerequisite for development and progress.

The United Nations General Assembly declared 2017 to be the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.This is a unique opportunity for all of us to promote tourism and travel as a great human activity in the 21st century, to build a better future for mankind, planet, peace and prosperity.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2017, regardless of when, wherever you travel, please remember:
