Con Dao: Launch counseling center, support treatment to drug addiction in the community

Center for counseling, care, support and treatment of drug addiction in the community was established to help drug users access to medical services for treatment of cutting addiction,  detoxification, treatment of physical and mental disorders. . Counseling, testing, and treatment are all free of charge at this counseling center. In addition, this is also a place for counseling drug addicts and their families on HIV prevention and control measures; connection of detoxification support services; contributing to reducing the number of drug users.

Center for counseling, support and treatment of drug addiction in the community is located at Con Dao Military Medical Center, including 7 members. This is the 10th consultation point in the province established.

Through operations of the counseling center to increase the access of drug users, post-detoxification and family members to social services and health services, contributing to reducing relapse rates, improving health and the life quality of people after detoxification, creating conditions for drug addicts to recover and reintegrate into the community; At the same time, ensuring the security situation in the district.

Also on this occasion, the Department of Social Evils Prevention in coordination with the Con Dao District People's Committee organized training classes to prevent social evils for the executive board and residential groups.
