Ba Ria - Vung Tau establishes Department of Tourism

The Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial People’s Committee on January 16th announced the Decision establishing its Department of Tourism.

The Department of Tourism was formed on the basis of separating the State management function on tourism from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, approved by the provincial People’s Council (term VI) at a session on August 4th, 2016.

Its structure includes one Director, two Deputy Directors and four specialized units.

Trinh Hang, Chairman of Board of Directors of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Development and Construction Joint Stock Company, was appointed as Director of the Department of Tourism from January 16th, 2017.

In his speech at the announcing ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh affirmed that tourism is among four important economic sectors  of the locality. He hoped the establishment of the Department will help the tourism sector create breakthroughs, significantly contributing to the province’s economic development and meeting the expectations of the provincial Party Committee and people./.
