The inauguration ceremony of the Northwest road in Con Dao, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Congress; Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, Member of Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Mr. Bui Chi Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, together with leaders of Departments, Branches of the province and leaders of Con Dao district. The project of Con Dao Northwestern Road was approved by the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to invest in Decision No. 3915 / QD-UBND dated October 29, 2008 and adjusted in Decision No. 2494 / QD-UBND dated September 12, 2016 with a total investment of 702 billion VND from the East Sea - Islands program, of which 30% is allocated from the central budget, 70% from the provincial budget and other sources. The project is divided into 02 phases. Stage 1 Construction investment scale is from Km0 + 00 (end of Ben Dam route) to Km7 + 720 (intersection with existing Ma Thien Lanh road) and section Km 13 + 800 to the end of the route. This is the fourth level road, in a mountainous area, with design speed of 40km/h; road surface width for car lanes is 5.5m; the width of the reinforcement margin is 1m; the width of the soil margin is 1m; oad foundation width is 7.5m, accompanied by a complete technical infrastructure system, including drainage system, protective works, parking lot. The project on the Con Dao Northwest road, after completion, will form a smooth traffic system, contributing to the complete traffic network around the island, creating favorable conditions for transportation and transportation of goods from the airport to Ben Dam port and a road connecting the town, Ben Dam and Co Ong in the future; facilitating mobility, contributing to maintaining national defense - security, social order and safety in the district; facilitating the full exploitation of the ecotourism potentials of Con Dao district, exploiting scenic spots such as Ong Dung, Ong Cau, Dam Trau and Ong Cuong beaches, the route is also a gateway to exploit tourism potentials on the islands of Troc, Tre Lon, and Tre Nho; creating better conditions for forest management, research, protection, and conservation. At the ceremony, the leaders and delegates cut the inaugural ribbon, officially opened the traffic and put into operation the first phase of the Northwest road in Con Dao district. This is one of the important events in the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the province in the area of Con Dao district.
