Con Dao held the anniversary of the heroine Vo Thi Sau’s sacrifice

Mr.Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr.Nguyen Van Tho, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr.Tran Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments and branches of Ba Ria Vung Tau province; leaders of Dat Do district and localities in the province attended. On the side of Con Dao district, Mr. Le Van Phong, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee, and a large number of officials, soldiers, all classes of people in Con Dao district and tourists took part.
At the beginning of the ceremony, delegates laid wreaths and burned incense at the grave of the heroine of the People's Armed Forces Vo Thi Sau in the B2 area, Hang Duong Cemetery. Then the delegates attended a folk faith sacrifice to pay contribution to the steadfast, indomitable daughter of the homeland of Dat Do district at Con Dao Temple.  In a stately and emotional atmosphere, the delegates rang the bell, offered incense, and spent minutes reviewing the biography of heroine Vo Thi Sau.
Exactly 69 years ago, Ms. Vo Thi Sau actually walked to execution by barefoot between spiked shoes and shackles on Con Dao Island. In front of the enemy’s guns, she was still passionate about singing Revolutionary songs. Although she sacrificed bravely sixty-nine years ago, her life and legends about Ms. Vo Thi Sau have been etched in the hearts of many Vietnamese people. She fought to the last breath with optimism and faith in the ideal that she has chosen. To honor the sacrifice of Ms Sau, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has awarded Vo Thi Sau the title of Heroine of the People's Armed Forces on 2nd August 1993. 
Every year the anniversary of heroine Vo Thi Sau is solemnly organized by the People's Committee of Con Dao district. This has become a unique cultural event of Con Dao.
This event also contributed to educating all of the class of people of the district about patriotism and the sacrifice of Ms Vo Thi Sau. Then, they swore effort to work and study and contributes to the construction and development of the homeland and the country.
Currently, the Ceremony was known by a lot of people. So many tourists came and attended her death anniversary ceremony.
