Con Dao responds "Action Month for Environment"

In the morning of June 5-6, 2018 People's Committee of Con Dao district organized a ceremony to respond to World Environment Day with the theme "Resolve plastic and plastic pollution", attended by Mr.Le Van Duc - Deputy Secretary of District Committee Mr.Nguyen Tan Dat - Chairman of People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Chairman of District People's Committee with officers, soldiers, residents and students.

Today, environmental pollutionproblem has become more seriouly in Vietnam in particular and in the world in general. According to United Nations Environment Program, every year we emit a sufficient amount of plastic to spread around the globe four times, with about 500 billion plastic bags consumed in the world, but most plastic waste buried in burial sites. With sustainability in nature, plastic waste (such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, food containers ...), along with other environmental pollutants, have had a negative impact on environment andpeople health. Plastic waste has become a major challenge for the community and society.

At present, with the strong development of Con Dao tourism, number of people are coming to visit more and more crowdedly, accompanied by the large amount of consumer waste of tourists.If not to be burned in good weather in the long term, as a result, Con Dao environment will be polluted seriously.As for sustainable tourism development, organizations, business households, tour operators and tourist service establishments, should raise awareness to collect good garbage from customers, create green landscape, clean environment to contribute to sustainable development of Con Dao tourism.

Launching "action month for the environment" will partly raise awareness of changing consumption habits and waste disposal.In June, 2018 this district People's Committee held the launching ceremony "actionmonth for the environment" in the district and respond to World Environment Day 2018 with the theme "Resolving plastic and plastic pollution". In order to raise awareness that dangers from environmentpollution will have a direct impact on us, so change habits and lifestyle of each person,each family and society communityfriendly to the environment, close to nature.
