The return of Resorts World One cruise ship to Con Dao island

On the morning of June 2, 2024, the international cruise ship Resorts World One docked at Ben Dam Port in Con Dao District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, bringing nearly 2,000 international tourists to the island to visit the ecological and spiritual tourism destinations in the district.

The Resorts World One cruise ship departed from Singapore on May 30, arrived at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port on June 1, allowing tourists to visit Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City. The ship then continued its voyage to bring tourists to explore Con Dao District. 
 
The Resorts World One cruise ship has a capacity of 75,338 tons, measuring 268m in length, 32m in width, and 13 floors in height. It can accommodate over 2,200 passengers with a total of 928 bedrooms, 17 restaurants offering diverse cuisines, and a wide range of entertainment, recreational, sports, health, cultural, and culinary services to cater to all types of tourists (from children to the elderly) throughout their time on board. The Resorts World One cruise ship belongs to Resorts World Cruises, specializing in exploring Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.

The ship carries about 2,117 passengers and 1,138 crew members, mostly Asian guests. In Con Dao, 1,404 passengers disembarked and participated in ecological and spiritual tourism destinations such as the Con Dao Museum - Phu Tuong Prison - Phu Son Prison - island church - Con Dao Market; Con Dao National Park - and exploring the primeval forest. Tourists also took a boat trip to Hon Bay Canh and Hon Cau to visit the Con Dao turtle nesting area, mangrove forests, and go diving to observe coral reefs, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.

The welcoming ceremony was jointly organized by the People's Committee of Con Dao District, the Management Board of Con Dao National Tourist Area, Saigontourist Travel Service Company, and other organizations to create a friendly and safe environment and leave a good impression on tourists.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Con Dao district, welcomed the delegation and shared the orientation of Con Dao tourism development. The luxury cruise ship bringing over 2,000 international tourists is a great opportunity for promoting Con Dao tourism. "In the orientation for Con Dao tourism development, the criteria for servicing high-end visitors, especially international visitors, is an important criteria that the Con Dao tourism industry aims for. And this is a very good opportunity to fulfill this task."
Mr. Michael Goh, Chairman of Resorts World Cruises, shared the reason for choosing Con Dao as a new destination in the journey of Resorts World One, which is to provide unique experiences for tourists and opportunities to explore untouched destinations.
On the same afternoon, the ship will depart from Con Dao to continue its voyage to Redang (Malaysia) on June 3 and return to Singapore on June 4.
