The annual festival, which is held from the 17th to the 19th day of the second lunar month, has been listed among 15 fifteen major festivals Viet Nam.
The event aims to honour Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, as well as pray for peace and prosperity for all people.
During the festival, local people and visitors will have a chance to join religious ceremonies and activities, including a ceremony in celebration of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s birthday, the procession of Princess Huyen Tran, preaching activities and flower release.
In addition, the event features a wide variety of cultural and sports activities, such as fine arts and photo exhibitions, calligraphy performances, boat races, and performances of traditional martial of arts.
The Quan The Am Festival contributes to not only preserving the traditional culture of Da Nang City, but also to promoting the beauty of the Ngu Hanh Son relic site.
The Quan The Am Pagoda, built in 1957, is located at the foot of Kim Son (Metal Mountain) in the Ngu Hanh Son (Five Element Mountains) area.
