Vietnam has the First Rule of civilized Conduct when traveling

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued the first Rule of Civilized Conduct in Tourism, which included standardized regulations on tourism civilization.

According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a rule of civilized conduct in tourism on  March 17, 2017. This is the first time the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the Rule of civilized behavior of tourism on a national scale.

The Rule of  Civilized Conduct consists of normative norms, contributing to orientation of behaviors, attitudes, habits and ways of civilized behavior of organizations and individuals when participating in tourism activities. The rule is aimed at Vietnamese tourists when traveling at home and abroad; Foreigners tourists traveling in Vietnam; Organizations and individuals joining in tourism business activities and Communities at tourism sites.

The Rule includes 2 chapters, which stipulate what should be done for each participant in tourism activities such as: tourists; Organizations and individuals doing business in tourism; Travel business; tour guides;  accommodation establishments; Means of transporting; Shopping centers for tourists; Tourism destination; Communities.

For visitors, behavior message is civilization, self-esteem and responsibility, expressed through 20 behaviors. They are queueing orderly, appropriate clothes, respecting differences of cultures, no throwing garbage, no taking other people's items ... Acts as buying goods unknown origin , Using products from wild animals ... is not sensible behaviors ...

For those who provide travel services, hotel, transportation, sales, the Rule also take similar rules. They are no inviting customers with insistence, no raising prices, squeezing visitors, no selling goods with bad quality, no using other brands, no helping foreign-invested businesses deal by others’ names, ...

The Rule also sets out some slogans on tourism civilized behavior such as raising the image of Vietnamese tourists; Knowledgeably and responsibly travel; Vietnam - a safe, friendly, civilized destination; Every citizen is a tour guide ...

Recently, many provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Thuan, Da Nang ... have issued the rule of conduct, guiding tourists for behaving properly. From the beginning of 2016, Danang tourism industry has issued a rule of conduct in tourism activities in Vietnamese. This Rule is illustrated very vivid by pictures.

Da Nang then issued 5,000 copies of the Rule of Conduct for Tourism in Chinese, distributed to visitors at tourist sites, airports, railway stations, hotels, This rule is also sent to companies, travel businesses, services business in province to propagandize directly to visitors, partners, international guests coming Vietnam before travelling to Da Nang.

Hanoi has also issued a Rule of Conduct in public places in this city. The rule sets out the general rules of conduct and rules of conduct at nine specific public places: sidewalks, on the streets; Flower gardens, squares, monuments, parks; Places of belief and religion; Museums, libraries, cultural houses; Trade centers, supermarkets, markets, restaurants; Station, bus station, pier, boat, airport; When participating in traffic; Entertainment zones, tourism destinations. The Rule of Conduct directs individuals, organizations what to do and what not to do, but not mandatory.

The promulgation of the rule of civilized behaviors in tourism is a good sign that tourism industry and local authorities are determined to improve and enhance the image of Vietnam tourism, to reach a civilized, friendly, attractive tourism. However, in order for these regulations of the Rule brings into play effect, it is necessary to have strong propaganda from localities, people, tourists and especially service enterprises in tourism section.
