Happy Lunar New year 2024 in Con Dao with exciting activities

 
Accordingly, many unique cultural, artistic, and sports activities are organized by the district:
1. Implementing the Spring Flower Zone model
- Operation time: From February 6, 2024, and keep serving tourists to visit and enjoy after Tet.
- Location: Le Hong Phong Street.
- Content: Flower decoration according to thematic areas, vivid miniatures of the Year of the Dragon, showing the typical cultural features of Con Dao district; Introducing and promoting the tourism image of Con Dao.
 


2. February 7, 2024 (December 28 of the lunar calendar)
a. Opening art program of Spring Flower Area, Playground Area, and Food Court area
- Time: 19:30 February 7, 2024. Program duration: 60 minutes
- Location: Ton Duc Thang - Le Hong Phong roundabout
- Program content:
+ Cultural performance.
+ Reportage: introducing year-end Tet Market culture.
+ Opening ceremony, including: Declaring the reason and introducing delegates; tribute to sponsors; Opening speech by district leaders.
 + Continue performing arts.
+ Ribbon cutting ceremony; Lion dance; Visit flower street, spring playground area, food court area.
b. Playground area and Food court area
- Operation time: From February 7, 2024, to February 18, 2024 (ie the 28th to the 9th of the Lunar New Year)
- Location: From Nguyen Hue - Le Hong Phong roundabout to Le Hong Phong - Pham Van Dong intersection.
3. February 9, 2024 (night of December 30 of the lunar calendar)
a. Art program to welcome the new year 2024 with the theme "Con Dao Spring - Dragon Flower Festival"

d. New Year's greeting exchange activities between district leaders, all people, and tourists (after the Fireworks display)
- Time: 0:15 to 3:00, February 10, 2024 (1st day of Lunar New Year).
- Location: Ton Duc Thang - Le Hong Phong roundabout
4. Meetings and visits activities
Meetings to give gifts to policy beneficiaries, the elderly, visits and gifts to armed forces units in the district, subsidies to pensioners; social protection subjects; Households in difficult circumstances; organizing meetings for students who go back to the island to have Tet with their families.
5. Organizing sports activities
- Registration time: From January 8, 2024, to February 15, 2024 (except for football tournaments for students, the registration time is until February 7, 2024 ).
- Competition time: February 17, 2024 (8th day of Lunar New Year), except for the student football tournament, opened on February 11, 2023 (2nd day of Lunar New Year).
- Location: At the National Flag Pole and April 30 Stadium.
 - Content of competitions: Mountain climbing (or jogging) accompanies Spring; Football tournament for students welcoming Lunar New Year; Group tug of war, friendly men and women volleyball (02 matches); Friendly football (02 matches)... and some other folk games.
6. Bird singing contest
- Registration time: From the date of publication of the plan until the end of February 15, 2024
- Competition time: 08:00 February 16, 2024 (7th day of Lunar New Year)
- Location: Pham Van Dong Park. 

 


7. Organize the display of books, newspapers, and travel publications
- Organize an integrated display of books, newspapers, and travel publications... to serve readers at the Spring Flower Area from February 7, 2024 (Lunar December 28^th) to February 17, 2024 (Lunar January 8, 2024).
- Location: At the Spring Flower Area on Le Hong Phong Street
8. Organize a culinary contest to celebrate the Party and the New Year of the Dragon.
- Contest time: 4:00 p.m., February 19, 2024 (10th day of Tet).
