The reason why Ba Ria - Vung Tau suddenly became the most popular travel 'star'

A report just published by a tourism market research unit shows that, in a short time, from the end of 2022 to the first quarter of this year, the tastes of choosing domestic destinations of Vietnamese tourists have changed a lot.

According to The Outbox Company's ranking of favorite destinations in the first quarter, Vietnam's coastal cities and major cities occupy the entire top 5. In particular, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has become the most favorite domestic destination for Vietnamese tourists with 13.6% choosing. At the end of last year, Ba Ria - Vung Tau only ranked 4th.

The main reason why Ba Ria - Vung Tau became the most popular destination in the first quarter explained by the unit is "Thanks to the diversified investment from tourism activities to entertainment programs that are well received by many people."
Specifically, in 2022, Ba Ria - Vung Tau will exploit a number of new products such as: Water park with many attractive activities, public beach, Ho Tram walking street, sea view bridge... diversify tourism products to serve tourists. Events such as street music shows, climbing tours, cycling, weekend sea sports... also contributes to promoting the image of the province in tourists’ eyes. And yet, according to the publisher, this has always been a popular destination for Vietnamese people thanks to its beautiful scenery, moderate cost, very close location to Ho Chi Minh City - the most populous city in Vietnam and suitable for short-term travel.

Talking to Tien Phong Post, a leader of a tourism business said that the tourism trend in recent times has changed significantly. "Destinations where can be reached by road with a choice of family cars, trains,... are more favorable." He said, adding that from Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Ria - Vung Tau, visitors can choose to ride motorbikes, cars or high-speed boats and ferries. According to him, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has had many initiatives in attracting tourists, including the contest "I love Ba Ria - Vung Tau", promote tourism linkage activities, survey tours and tourist routes to serve tourists by ship...
Combined with the development orientation of key tourist areas, Ba Ria - Vung Tau also promotes the development of transport infrastructure systems connecting with potential destinations for tourism; link with neighboring provinces to build a satellite transport system linking the southeastern provinces with Ba Ria-Vung Tau. Many types of tourism in this locality are also promoted such as conferences, seminars combined with sea resort tourism, tourism associated with medical treatment and health care, tourism associated with entertainment services, tourism associated with physical training and sports activities, cultural-historical tourism, ecotourism, community based tourism...
According to him, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is located in a region with few storms and a mild climate. In this locality where a year with two distinct seasons, in fact, tourists can travel to there all year round.
