What is special about the Folk Baking contest in Con Dao?

As one of the series of activities of the traditional festival: the 238^th death anniversary of Mrs Phi Yen in 2023, Con Dao district held a folk baking competition. This is the first time the competition has been held in the Con Dao district, attracting many people and tourists to participate, and creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere at the An Son Mieu site.
30 teams from Trade union bases, hotels, women's associations, and 9 communities in Con Dao District participated in the folk baking competition. The team showcased their culinary talents and introduced typical folk cakes from the north, middle, and south regions to the people and tourists, such as sizzling pancakes (banh Xeo), water fern cakes (banh Beo), Vietnamese crepes (Banh Khot)...



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Con Dao folk baking competition, held for the first time, brought a joyful and exciting atmosphere to the people and tourists. This is also an opportunity for officials, Trade union members, Youth union members, and the people of Con Dao to showcase their ingenious creativity, and to meet, interact, and exchange experiences in making folk cakes. Therefore, through the unique folk cakes in each region of the country, it helps to protect, preserve, and promote the unique characteristics of culinary culture.
