Implement the management of tour guide according to the provisions of the Tourism Law in 2017

Official letter emphasized: the Law of Tourism in 2017 was approved by the National Assembly of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and effective from 1/1/2018. Under the provisions of the Law of Tourism 2017, tour guide only works when meet all three conditions: 1. Tour guide card; 2. Having labor contracts with tourist service-providing enterprises or tourist service-providing enterprises, or members of social-professional organizations guiding tourism for international tour guides and domestic tour guides; 3. Having a guiding contract with a tourist service business enterprise or an assignment document guided under the tourist program; For tourist guides at points, there must be assignment of organizations and individuals managing tourist resorts and tourist spots.

Implementing the above provisions of the Tourism Law 2017, so that tour guides work in accordance with the law, the Tourism Department requested the Tourism Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities to inform and guide the tour guide to implement regulations in section 2 above. At the same time, the Department proactively advises the provincial People's Committee, create favorable conditions for the establishment of social-professional organizations on tourism guides - organizations help protect the interests of tour guide, training Skills and expertise for tour guide inspects and monitors the performance of tour guide in compliance with the law.

The Tourism Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and cities will implement and send reports on the results to the General Department of Tourism before November 30, 2017.
