Con Dao sets a target that by 2030, it will become an "island eco-tourism and cultural-historical-spiritual center of high quality, excellent in both the regional and international.
Determining tourism is a key economic sector of Con Dao district in the next five years, Con Dao District People's Committee is carrying out important tasks to build and develop Con Dao according to the objectives.
Economic sectors such as handicrafts, agriculture are planned and oriented to serve development of tourism. The district will invest in the construction of technical infrastructure, improve the quality of facilities and tourist services, etc., corresponding to the speed of development of visitors to Con Dao.
From early 2017 up to now, Con Dao district has invested nearly 70 projects for people and tourism development; To complete and study the investment in the internal road transport system, including Con Son Island, Hon Ba Island, Bay Cau Island and Hon Cau Island as well as water supply and drainage, environmental sanitation and other socio-economic works..
The district is implementing a project to renovate and upgrade the arterial road from the center to Co Ong and from the center to Ben Dam in order to ensure traffic safety for the people and to target the tourism development of the island district. .
