According to the master plan for the development of Con Dao National Park, in 2030, Con Dao will become an "island eco-tourism and cultural-historical-spiritual center of high quality and special characteristics of the regional and international ".

The paradise of resort and nature discovery

Con Dao District is an archipelago of 16 large and small islands located in the middle of the ocean with a natural area of about 76 km2.

Con Dao has 200 km coastline, many beautiful beaches such as Dat Doc, Bai Canh, Dam Trau, Hon Cau, Hon Tre ...

In addition, Con Dao National Park covers an area of nearly 6,000 ha on land and 14,000 ha of sea surface with many rare plants and animals. Con Dao also has a special national monument known as "Con Dao Prison" - marking a period of historic struggle against the foreign invaders of the former generations.

They are Phu Hai, Phu Son, Phu Tuong and Phu Binh; tigers, cow shed in the same house of God Island and Hang Duong cemetery, where 20,000 prisoners were buried, mostly revolutionary soldiers during the two anti-French and anti-American wars.

In addition, the  habitat in Con Dao is very fresh, with an average temperature of 26-27 degrees C, cool all year round.

With its geographical location, strategic history, along with its exceptional cultural and historical values, plus its privileged nature, over the years. The Party and people of Con Dao have been working on two strategic missions at the same time to develop tourism economy in association with the protection of sea island sovereignty.

In particular, Con Dao has taken advantage of, developing tourism with various types of tourism such as: bathing tourism, sightseeing, ecotourism (diving, fishing, climbing mountain, sea forest, marine life ...).

In 2011, Con Dao was voted as one of the world's 10 most unforgettable, mystical and beautiful islands in the world by famous tourist magazine Lonely Planet (UK). Inland, Con Dao is one of more than 20 national tourist sites in Vietnam, which is considered as a paradise for relaxation and nature discovery (forest and sea).

According to Con Dao National Park Management Board, in 2017, Con Dao has welcomed and served approximately 244,000 visitors (up 46% compared to 2016), of which 31,000  are international visitors; total revenue from tourism services in the district reached over 1,100 billionVND.

Striving to be a high-quality resort of regional and international standards

Con Dao sets a target that by 2030, it will become an "island eco-tourism and cultural-historical-spiritual center of high quality, excellent in both the regional and international.

Determining tourism is a key economic sector of Con Dao district in the next five years, Con Dao District People's Committee is carrying out important tasks to build and develop Con Dao according to the objectives.

Economic sectors such as handicrafts, agriculture are planned and oriented to serve development of tourism. The district will invest in the construction of technical infrastructure, improve the quality of facilities and tourist services, etc., corresponding to the speed of development of visitors to Con Dao.

From early 2017 up to now, Con Dao district has invested nearly 70 projects for people and tourism development; To complete and study the investment in the internal road transport system, including Con Son Island, Hon Ba Island, Bay Cau Island and Hon Cau Island as well as water supply and drainage, environmental sanitation and other socio-economic works..

The district is implementing a project to renovate and upgrade the arterial road from the center to Co Ong and from the center to Ben Dam in order to ensure traffic safety for the people and to target the tourism development of the island district. .
