On October 20, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) promulgated regulations on the application of specific training mechanisms for tourism.

Accordingly, MoET requires universities, academies and universities that have training in tourism (referred to training institutions) to develop a scheme to apply the unique mechanism Create university-level tourism human resources.

Specifically, the ministry regulates industries that are subject to specific mechanisms; programs, contents and forms of training; priority on mechanisms and policies for training human resources for tourism; cooperation between university training institutions and enterprises, professional associations and activities to support human resources training tourism.

Tourism training establishments applying the special mechanism must develop a project on training human resources for tourism in the period of 2017-2020, including enclosed appendices and explanatory notes for publication in the public domain on the website of the training institution and send the project to the Ministry of Education and Training at least 30 working days before the commencement of its implementation in service of the inspection and examination work.

MoET requires training providers to seriously implement the content of this new requirement.

It is known that theere are many current training facilities but mainly in large cities, leading to the lack of human resources in place in many destinations. A number of industries currently and forecast in the near future will need more employees that not yet trained or trained with low quality.

In addition, the annual number of graduates is quite large, but it has not met the requirements of society, especially with large scale projects. Along with that, there are some inadequacies in the quality of training, teaching staff, state management in tourism training as well as the link between training and fostering tourism human resources.
