National Assembly Chairman: "The first 9 months, tourism continues to grow"

National Assembly Chairman Nguy?n Th? Kim Ngân sent condolences and sympathy to flood victims, who have suffered many losses and disasters since the disaster in recent days.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Minh Triet said that, under the direction of the efforts of the Government, central and local ministries and closely monitored by the National Assembly,the socio-economic situation in our country continues to achieve positive results. In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam's economy has grown steadily, macroeconomic stability has continued, production, exports, tourism continue to grow, reforms have many changes, education, public science culture, culture, economy ... continue to have positive changes. Social security and national defense have been strengthened, political security and social order continued to be maintained. Foreign relations and international cooperation have gained many positive results ... affirming the position of Vietnam on the international arena.

The National Assembly acknowledges and appreciates the efforts and creativity of the Government, branches and levels in implementing the National Assembly's resolutions on socio-economic development plans and the State budget; praising the spirit of striving for the business community, the strata of the people have overcome difficulties, winning positive results, striving to reach the targets of 2017.

However, the National Assembly Chairman also said that besides the results achieved, the socio-economic situation in our country still faces many difficulties and challenges.

In particular, budget and public debt remains high. The handling of bad credit institutions and bad debts are still difficult. The allocation and disbursement of investment capital from the budget is still slow, the handling of ineffective investment projects is prolonged, state enterprises equitisation has not reached the desired level.

In addition, the situation of violations of environmental laws, food hygiene and safety, traffic accidents and social evils in many fields has been complicated.

"There are also some serious deforestation. Corruption, prodigality is not prevented, pushed back as expected. The impact of climate change is increasingly severe, the weather is abnormal. All these issues affect the production and business activities of the people, directly affecting the completion of the socio-economic development plan”, the National Assembly chairman stressed.

According to the Chairman of the National Assembly, the task set for the remaining months of 2017 in the coming time is very heavy, demanding the entire Party, the people and the whole army to strengthen solidarity, unity of thought and action and put efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges.

Also in the opening speech, the National Assembly Chairman said that at this session, the National Assembly will focus on discussing, approving a series of important resolutions, including: Resolution on the socio-economic development plan 2018; Resolution on state budget estimates in 2018; Resolution on central budget allocation in 2018; Resolutions on land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement projects of Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport); Resolutions on investment policy for construction of some North-South expressway sections of the East; Specialized monitoring resolutions on the implementation of policies and laws on reform of the State administrative apparatus;bResolution on delaying the implementation of the program of general education and new textbooks in the National Assembly's Resolution No. 88/2014 on renewal of general education programs and textbooks…

Particularly, the National Assembly will discuss and push through the resolution on mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

Regarding the draft laws discussed by the National Assembly, comments are also many important laws such as: Law on denunciation (amendment); Defense law (amended); Law of network security; Competition Law (amended); Law on protection of State secrets; Law on anti-corruption (amended); Special administrative-law unit..

At this session, the National Assembly also devotes about 15 days to reviewing, discussing reports and deciding some important issues of the country, including: Government's report on the socio-economic development plan 2018; State budget estimates and central budget allocation plans in 2018; Report on the prevention and combat of crimes and law violations, the work of judgment execution and anti-corruption work in 2017 ...

In particular, the National Assembly heard reports such as: the feasibility study report on land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement projects for Long Thanh Airport; Report of the National Assembly's Supervising Mission on "Implementation of the policy and law on reform of the state administrative apparatus in 2011-2016";pre-feasibility study report of the North-South expressway project for the construction of the North-South expressway in the period 2017-2020;bReport on the delay of implementing the program of general education and textbooks in Resolution No. 88/2014 of the National Assembly on the renewal of textbooks and general education textbooks ...

On the first day of work, just after National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan made the opening remarks, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will present a report on the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for 2017; socio-economic Development Plan 2018.

Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented the report synthesizing the opinions and proposals of the voters and the people.

In the afternoon of the same day, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, under the authorization of the Prime Minister, presented the report on the results of the implementation of the state budget in 2017; State budget estimates and central budget allocation plan 2018.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented the Statement on the Bill amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Physical Training and Sports.

Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented the Statement on the Law on Competition (amended).
