LAUNCHING WITH WASTE COLLECTION AT SMALL ISLANDS PHASE.04 YEAR 2019

On August 23, the Management Board of Con Dao National Park in coordination with the District Military Headquarters and Fort Bien Phong at Con Dao organized the garbage collection and disposal force in 4 locations, including: NhaKho area, Bo Dap area, Giong is belongs to Hon Bay Canh and Dam Tre bay.

This is the first launching of garbage collection and disposal phase 04 of the year 2019. There are nearly 200 soldiers and officers of the district Military Commission, Fort Bien Phong, and officials of the Con Dao National Park Management Board. , with 12 drivers, assistant boat, ferry, canoe. These forces are divided into 4 teams to perform the task.
After 1 working day with a high sense of responsibility, about 4 locations have collected and processed about 300 m3 of waste. Most of the garbage from the ocean drifted here to accumulate here, some entangled in roots, branches of mangroves and others trapped in rock niches or along sandy beaches of all kinds such as Styrofoam, bottles, cans plastic, mesh, parachute cord, glass jar, rotten wood, plastic bag, ...
After collection, waste is sorted by groups for treatment. In particular, plastic and wood waste is treated by incineration on-site; solid wastes are collected and transported to Con Son big island for processing.
This is an annual activity organized by the Management Board of Con Dao National Park in order to make Con Dao always clean and beautiful. At the same time, raising awareness of environmental protection, protecting beach ecosystems in the Ramsar Area of Con Dao National Park; minimizing the situation of environmental pollution, serving conservation and development resource development, and tourism development in Con Dao.
