On the morning of August 15, the Government Office collaborated with the Ministry of Transport to organize an online conference with the provinces, cities and island districts that have airport airports, and summed up the assurance of security and security aviation in the first 6 months of 2019, deploying missions in the last months of the year. According to the report of the Civil National Aviation Security Committee, in the first 6 months of 2019, aviation security and safety were basically maintained; incidents were handled and promptly remedied. However, in NgheAn, at Vinh International Airport with the capacity to welcome more than 2 million passengers per year, there are still many shortcomings. Only in the first 6 months of 2019, here, authorities detected and handled 236 cases of passengers carrying weapons, support tools, dangerous items in contravention of law; a case of passengers spreading false information about the existence of bombs or explosive materials; an illegal intrusion into a restricted area, and the number of passengers causing disturbance and threats to aviation personnel are still taking place.
Cases of passengers carrying weapons, support tools, and articles in contravention of regulations tend to increase; a sense of compliance with regulations on aviation security and safety of a part of port officials and employees is not serious; overlapping authorities' competence to handle; coordination mechanism between units at the airport is still inadequate, there are situations that occur but handle in time. The current system of equipment and infrastructure ensure aviation security only meets the minimum needs...
Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh emphasized that in the current context, ensuring aviation security and safety is a particularly important task. In order to ensure absolute aviation safety in the last months of the year, the National Civil Aviation Security Committee needs to absorb the opinions of ministries, branches, and localities, summarize and finalize public reports and programs operative. Units and localities should base themselves on their assigned functions, tasks, drastically and seriously to effectively implement the set targets, ensuring absolute aviation security and safety, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the country. /.
