Con Dao focuses on tourism demand stimulus after Covid-19 epidemic

According to the statistics of the Con Dao Tourism Management Board, since from May 7, 2020 when the activities of business, entertainment, beaches were re-activated normally, the number of tourists coming to Con The island has recovered about 70%, mainly domestic tourists.

Since April 25th, 2020 implementing the Directive 19/CT-TTg of the Government, re-activating activities in a new normal condition, for business activities and disease prevention at the same time. However in the period of April 25th to May 6th, 2020, business activities had been opened but still kept a safe distance, beaches, entertainment units had not been allowed to open. Therefore, the number of tourist arriving to Con Dao in the first 6 months was 57.06% over the same period in 2019, in which international tourists were 69.73% over the same period.

In order to ensure the epidemic prevention and caution as well as developing the local economy, Con Dao district has directed to strengthen the coordination among Police, Health Department, Management Board of Ben Dam Port, Con Son Airport. moreover, suggested tourism business units demanding tourists wearing masks in public places, washing hands, measuring body temperature, grasping the tourists’ journey to Con Dao Island to ensure the effective prevention and control of Covid-19 disease and economic development. Strengthening the beach rescue activities to ensure safety for tourists and residents. Checking and supervising to keep environmental landscape clear and hygiene in public areas, tourist attractions and beaches. Improve service quality, keep stable prices. Research and develop Con Doa tourism products, developing community tourism, ecotourism and resort tourism. Promote and spread information about Con Dao tourism, participate in the tourism stimulus program to attract tourists to visit Con Dao.
