JOINING HANDS TO PROTECT CON DAO ISLAND ENVIRONMENT

The People's Committee of Con Dao district has brought environmental protection and tourism civilized behavior into a breakthrough, focusing on directing and preserving Con Dao for sustainable development.

According to information from the National Tourism Management Board of Con Dao, the unit is implementing the installation of boards that prohibit the activities of eating and drinking, singing mobile speakers, causing noise; installation of the Code of Civilized Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued at road routes, attractions, beaches; publicly implementing acts of handling violations in public places and beaches to propagate and raise awareness of people and tourists. Currently, the majority of people in Con Dao are conscious of environmental hygiene, each person takes part in garbage collection at weekends, and establishes many clubs to clean the beach. However, there are still a number of working people and tourists not being aware of community environmental protection. Environmental agencies regularly propagate, remind, and proceed to handle administrative violations if the tourists do litter.
