Establishment of Con Dao National Park Management Board

According to Decision No. 870/QD-TTg dated 17/6/2015 of the Prime Minister approving "the master plan for development of Con Dao National Park, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province by 2030". Point of Developing Con Dao National Park is on the basis of rationally exploiting the strength of marine and forest resources of Con Dao National Park; Promoting the values ??of Con Dao National Historical Park; Creating the premise and motivation for development of other industries and services, attracting the participation of communities on the island; To overcome seasonality in local tourism activities, at the same time, tourism development must be linked with the task of preserving and promoting the values ??of historical-cultural relics, protecting the landscape and environment, ensuring national defense and security; Contributing to the local economic restructuring in the direction of increasing ratio of the service-tourism sector.

With above requirements, Ba Ria - Vung Tau People's Committee issued Decision No. 1481 / QD-UBND on the establishment of Con Dao National Park Management Board on the basis of reorganizating of Management Board of Con Dao tourist areas. Con Dao National Park Management Board is a public service agency under the People's Committee of Con Dao district. It has the function of assisting Con Dao district People's Committee in managing Con Dao National Park on the implementation of Planning and Investment under Approved planning; To carry out the inspection and supervision of the contents and progress of projects and activities of tourism and service business; To protect and make the embellishment of resources and the tourist environment and to manage tourism activities according to the provisions of law. The organizational structure consists of the head, one deputy head handling interior and two plurality deputy head  are representatives of the leaders of Con Dao Relics Management Board and Con Dao National Park Management Board. The specialized departments assisting the head include the Administration and Planning department; Department of Promotion and Tourism Support; Department of environmental sanitation - rescue – public safety; Department of Planning and Investment Management.

Con Dao National Park Management Board is under the direct management of Con Dao district People's Committee, at the same time subject to professional guidance and inspection of the Department of Tourism and related agencies. Currently, the District People's Committee focuses on directing specialized agencies to implement the decision.
