Con Dao organized traditional raft race and men's swimming in April 30th

The Con Dao Sports Festival organized the Traditional Race and Men's Swimming Tournament to celebrate Victory Day and International Labor Day on the morning of April 30th.

Con Dao people drop flower drafts to commemorate revolutionary prisoners who escaped from prison and sacrificed on the high seas.

In harmony with the joyful atmosphere of the country of celebrating the 42nd anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam, the liberation of Con Dao and the International Labor Day 01/5, Con Dao district held the traditional race and men's Swimming in the morning of April 30th. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Head of Con Dao District People's Committee, Le Thi Thu Thuy, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Con Dao district, leaders of the district's departments attended. After the opening ceremony is the ceremony of dropping flowers in order to remember the revolutionary prisoners who have escaped and died forever off the sea.

The teams are speeding towards the finish

There were 12 participants this year's race, including 10 residential areas, armed forces, workers and employees in the district. The rafts will start from  Lo Voi cape and stop at  914 Pier.

Many people, tourists come to watch and cheer for the race.

Athletes are competing for men's swimming

After finishing the raft race, the men's swimming was organized with the participation of 17 free swimming swimmers  and athletes with 500m in length.

The traditional raft race and men's swimming were held at 914 Pier.  The first prize was granded for the No.01 Residential Area. These races attracted crowds of people and tourists come to watch and cheer, created a cheerful atmosphere to welcome Victory Day and May Day.
