After the performance of children comefrom Mam Non Nursery school of the district and lively lion dance, children were immersed in lantern contest 2016. This is one of the activities that children await eagerly whenever Mid-Autumn Festival come. Con Dao weather was quiet, the sea was calm, the moon was bright inthat nightand the excitement of children made the atmosphere of Mid-Autumn night more jubilant, boisterous.
In this lantern contest, members of HCM Pioneers' Organization and pupils of the secondary school - high school, Vo Thi Sau and Cao Van Ngoc Primary School brought 20 lanterns made from materials such as plastic bottles, bamboo, cork, paper, cloth, ... All of these lanterns were concretized from 20 ideas to create different models such as jade rabbit, pulling lantern, boats, stars, plane, windmill, ... and all of them were towards the topics of sea and island of homelandand environment.
After the mark part of lanterns, pupils participated the Autumn lantern parade on the main street of the center island. In the exciting atmosphere, lantern procession walked in single file with colors and brilliant lanterns.
On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, ''Child Protection'' Fund of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has awarded 12 scholarships and gifts to 50 children in especially difficult circumstances of Con Dao district with a total amount to more than 110 million; a benefactor has donated 14 gifts to disabled children and given lanterns awarded with a total amount of 10 million. On this occasion, Con Dao District also donated 2.615 gifts to children in the district with a total amount of 261,5 million which was deducted from the local budget. Besides,the study promotion fund, the residential areas in the district has also donated hundreds of gifts to pupils who got highachievements in their studies.
It can be said that to the attention of government of BRVT province,Con Dao district and organizations, individuals on this island, Con Dao children had a warm, fun and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.
