Opening the exhibition called "The past of Con Dao through archives"

In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country to celebrate the 42th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam, the Labor Day, the 63rd anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory, and the 127th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, on the morning of May 1, 2017, Con Dao Museum in conjunction with the National Archives II of Ho Chi Minh City, the National Archive IV of Da Lat city organize a special exhibition called " The past of Con Dao through archives ".

Comrade Dang Thanh Tung - Director of State Archives and Records Department; Comrade Pham Ngoc Hung - Deputy Director of the National Archive Center II Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Director of National Archive Center IV Da Lat; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - TUV, Secretary of Con Dao District Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dung- UVTV, Vice Chairman of District People's Committee together with leaders of agencies and units in Con Dao district attended.

The exhibition titled "The past of Con Dao through archives " is reflected in two parts: from dawn of Poulo Condore to establishing sovereignty of Nguyen Dynasty (Con Dao under Nguyen dynasty) and Scale of prison construction, system executive of the French colonialists. More than 100 profiles, valuable documents were selected by Organizing Board to show at the exhibition, especially  Nguyen Dynasty Wood engraving  - world documentary heritage has promoted the value of rare archives and contributed to raise awareness of the people of the history of Con Dao’s formation and development - the sacred land of the Fatherland, from the time of Nguyen lords until the French colonial occupation and they used Con Dao as a place of detention, exile prisoners.

Through the images, archives displayed at the exhibition titled "The past of Con Dao through archives" also help the public understand more about the value of archives - Heritage of the nation. They have a special value in the cause of national construction and defense.
