In the period up to 2020, the existing downsizing road will be upgraded to 1.830m x 45m, ensuring the operation of Airbus A320 neo / ceo aircraft and the equivalent; apron for a minimum of 8 Airbus A320 aircraft; to build a new railway station in the southeast of the existing railway station to meet the capacity of 2 million passengers / year ... together with the complete technical infrastructure system.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho requested the adjustment of the detailed plan of Con Dao airport until 2020 with the orientation to 2030 to limit the impact on defense works, historical sites and protective forests in Con Dao district. At the same time, it is necessary to study and plan for the upgrading and construction of a runway to meet the standards so that the aircraft can land at night.
