Sacred Vietnam – a deep and meaningful show

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Viet Nam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day (27.7.1947 – 27.7.2017), Ho Chi Minh City Television Station held the live television "Sacred Vietnam" in three historical sacred sites of the country on 22nd July, including Hang Duong Cemetery (Ba Ria - Vung Tau);  Monument of Martyrs in Phu Quoc prison (Kien Giang province) and Ben Duoc memorial temple (Cu Chi, HCMC). The program is directly broadcasted on HTV9, HTV1, HTV4, Vietnam National Defense Channel and some television channels in the country.

Ms. Truong My Hoa - Former Party Secretary, Former State President, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the HCM City People's Council, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - Deputy Secretary of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee, delegations of Military Region 7, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, representatives of families with meritorious services to the revolution of Con Dao district and visitors attended this program.

To create a special artistic program to commemorate the martyrs, war invalids, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the meritorious families, the "Sacred Vietnam" television program  was taken place in solemn and profound atmosphere. “The Sacred Vietnam” has partly reflected the glorious journey of the nation through stories told by insiders, documntaries and reporters in about 2 hours and 30 minutes.  The journey of gratitude, searching the companion in arms told by insiders. All linked heroic pages of our nation via three sites of Con Dao - Phu Quoc - Cu Chi.

The program also contains the full of tears stories through the account of faithful former prisoners, veterans, witnesses of the arduous struggle time to contribute to independence and peace of the nation.

Through exchanging and talking with witnesses of the war, such as: Truong My Hoa - Former Party Central Committee, Former State President, former Con Dao political prisoners or daughter of former political prisoners Con Dao, Ms Huynh Thi Kim Loan, who is working at the Con Dao Monument, Colonel Tran Trong Dung - Editor-in-chief of Ho Chi Minh City Police Newspaper, ... the delegates and the audience heard the seamless and touching stories of Con Dao prison and the preservation of historical relics in the Con Dao sacred land.

The immortal majestic music space with songs, lyrics and dance were performed alternately between the pieces, the documentary films and the affective. They reminded the periods of heroic struggle and praised the courage and heroism of many generations of the elders, praised the great sacrifices of many Vietnamese mothers.

Dramatic and heroic performances at Con Dao stage

The music TV program titled “SacredVietnam“ gathered nearly 500 professional and amateur artists to join with many special performances. Only Con Dao site, there are about 50 professional artists and nearly 100 students, soldiers of the arm forces participating in the performance.

This program has brought officials, soldiers and people on the island a night of emotional gratitude. With a harmonious combination of stories, pieces, documentary films and music, it has created a fascinating art space and revived the heroic years of the nation through the national defense resistance. This also help us show the gratitude the history of many sacrifices, losses but full of glories and prides. At the same time, this contributed to educate today's generation of love and responsibility to the Fatherland.

Viet Nam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day is an occasion for us to remember and pay tribute to the heroes, martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and national defense. The video conferencing program with Con Dao as one of three sites is a significant event contributing to enrichment activities of the 70th anniversary of the important day in July. In addition, with the tradition of "drinking water must remember the source" and through practical and meaningful activities, the organizers of "Sacred Vietnam" program also donated VND 500 million to "the gratitude fund" of district Con Dao to care for families under preferential treatment policy in the island district with the great affection and the most responsible.
